Fox Renews The Simpsons for 23rd Season
Fox announced this morning that the network has renewed "The Simpsons," the longest-running comedy in TV history, for a 23rd season, bringing the series total to an impressive 515 episodes. "The Simpsons" airs Sundays (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT).
"Like many 22-year-olds, 'The Simpsons' is extremely happy remaining at home, on Fox, and hopes it doesn't have to go out into the real world for many years to come," said Al Jean, Executive Producer, "The Simpsons."
This season, America's favorite family continues to entertain us with their wild and outlandish adventures as Maggie goes missing, Homer becomes a premier hairdresser, Moe's Tavern is converted into an ultra-trendy bar and the family debates the best way to spend the holiday season. Guest stars paying Springfield a visit in upcoming episodes include actors Halle Berry, Paul Rudd, Ricky Gervais, Rachel Weisz, Jon Hamm, Kristen Wiig, Alyson Hannigan and Joe Mantegna; basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar; lifestyle guru Martha Stewart; and pop sensation Katy Perry, who appears in a live-action sequence alongside "Simpsons" puppets.
The World Broadcast Premiere of The Simpsons Movie will air Thanksgiving night, Thursday, Nov. 25 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), on Fox.
"The Simpsons" is a Gracie Films Production in association with 20th Century Fox Television. James L. Brooks, Matt Groening, Al Jean, Ian Maxtone-Graham and Matt Selman are the executive producers. Film Roman, a Starz Media Company, is the animation house.

Vorerst keine AKW-Pannen bei den "Simpsons"
Im Atomkraftwerk Springfield passieren häufig Pannen - doch im deutschsprachigen
Raum wird man davon in den nächsten Wochen wohl zunächst nichts mehr zu sehen
bekommen. Noch habe ProSieben allerdings keine Folge verschieben müssen.

The future of the longest-running scripted series on television, Fox’s The Simpsons, is once again in doubt over voice cast renegotiations with 20th Century Fox TV, a torturous cycle they go through every couple of years. Like last time around, there’s an impasse over the size of the actors’ salaries.
“Twenty-three seasons in, The Simpsons is as creatively vibrant as ever and beloved by millions around the world,” 20th TV said in a statement. “We believe this brilliant series can and should continue, but we cannot produce future seasons under its current financial model. We are hopeful that we can reach an agreement with the voice cast that allows The Simpsons to go on entertaining audiences with original episodes for many years to come.”
While still wildly profitable, The Simpsons has seen its primetime ratings on Fox erode over the last few years. But the franchise continues to be extremely important to News Corp., with the company’s COO Chase Carey recently suggesting that a Simpsons cable channel may be in the offing. As first reported by The Daily Beast, talks between the cast and 20th TV broke down after 20th TV turned down the cast’s proposal to take a 30% pay cut to about $4 million per season each in exchange for a piece of the back-end and issued an ultimatum yesterday for a 45% salary reduction.

The longest-running scripted show in television history, THE SIMPSONS exploded into a cultural phenomenon in 1990 and has remained one of the most groundbreaking and innovative entertainment franchises, recognizable throughout the world. Matt Groening created the iconic family: Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie. In February 2012, THE SIMPSONS will celebrate its historic 500th episode. The series has won 27 Emmy Awards, been the subject of a hit feature film, created "Krustyland" and a revolutionary virtual coaster - The Simpsons Ride - at Universal Studios, received a star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame, been honored with five U.S. postal stamps personally designed by Matt Groening, and named the "Best Show of the 20th Century" by Time Magazine.
Following the MLB American League Championship Series and World Series games on FOX, THE SIMPSONS returns with all-new episodes beginning with "Treehouse of Horrors XXII," on Sunday, Oct. 30 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT). In the spooky opener, Homer takes a dangerous dive into an isolated canyon on Candy Peak, but when a crashing boulder traps his arm, he channels Aron Ralston (guest voicing as himself) to save himself. In "The Diving Bell and Butterball," the first of three hair-raising Halloween tales, a venomous spider bite leaves Homer paralyzed, but when Lisa discovers Homer's ability to communicate through natural gases, he is able to express his love for Marge. The killer spells continue in "Dial D for Diddly," when Ned Flanders, devout preacher by day, transforms into a cold-blooded vigilante by night. In the final terrifying tale, "In the Na'Vi," Bart and Milhouse are assigned on a mission to access a sacred extract on a distant planet. They morph into the land's indigenous one-eyed avatars, but when Bart finds love and an eternal mate abroad, he is caught in planet warfare.

Ich muss mich korrigieren. Heute startet nicht die 23. Staffel, sondern es geht mit
neuen Folgen aus Staffel 22 weiter. Los geht es mit Folge 22x12 "Wenn der Homer
mit dem Sohne (Homer the Father)".
