Awake's Joby Harold
Something strange happened on the way to the release of filmmaker Joby Harold's
directorial debut Awake. He already had a production company backing the movie
and Harvey Weinstein was ready to release it with his new company, but after filming
it, the movie went into a long gestation period akin to post-production hell as Harold
fine-tuned it in editing and FX. Finally, after two years, it's seeing the light of day,
being "awoken" if you like, and the world will find out if it's ready for a thriller based

Dem ungeübten Auge mag dies so vorkommen, jedoch merkt man bei genauer
Betrachtung das vielleicht die Szenen schonmal als Bild da waren, jedoch gibt
es nun leichte Veränderungen am Motiv (andere Blickrichtung/Körperhaltung).
Und Jessica beim Malen samt zauberhaften Lächeln war mir nun komplett neu.

Review
[...] AWAKE made me know and care for its people in depth, before dragging them and me down to hell. GREAT MOVE! It also put out a compelling premise, solid acting all around, an endearing artsy vibe and enough twists to keep me reeled in like the trout that I am. Sure the whole “what’s really going on” angle was shaky in terms of the ‘why” and the “how”, the plot devices didn’t always feel organic and I would’ve so boogied to having Christensen’s character be a bigger part of the actual action. With that yapped, it was a lot of fun, hence I couldn’t help to…well… have fun! Not the sharpest tool in the shed, but it had enough heart, balls and originality to please. Worth a gander! [...]

Sitz gerade im Hotel am Rechner ... 2 Std Noch bis das Taxi kommt ... Bin gerade ausn Kino raus und ratet mal was ich gesehen habe ... AWAKE Ein sehr sehr geiler Film !!!!! Anschauen ist ein muss ...

Am Freitag hat der Film geschätzte 2.2 Mio Dollar eingespielt.
Damit belegt Awake den 4. Platz in den US-Kinocharts.

Das ist für nen independent Produktion relativ gut. Die können ja meistens gar nicht sehr viel einspielen, aus Mangel an Kopien. |

Die Schätzungen für das Startwochenende (Freitag - Sonntag) sind da. Demnach schaffte es Awake ca. 6 Mio. Dollar einzuspielen!
