Wo wir thematisch heute schon so bärig drauf sind, bleiben wir doch gleich dabei: Nicht nur asiatische Panda-Bären erheitern Jung und Alt, auch ein uramerikanischer Bär aus dem Yellowstone, äh... nein, Entschuldigung, natürlich Jellystone Nationalpark erfreut sich noch immer großer Beliebtheit.
Yogi Bear, nach eigenen Aussagen schlauer als der gewöhnliche Durchschnittsbär, soll von Warner Bros. einen eigenen Kinofilm spendiert bekommen. Dies berichtet der Hollywood Reporter. Noch ist nicht ganz klar, wie die Geschichte von den Autoren Joshua Sternin und Jeffrey Ventimilia (Die wilden Siebziger!) umgesetzt werden soll. Die Beteiligung von Regisseur Ash Brannon (Könige der Wellen) lässt aber auf den Einsatz von reichlich CGI tippen, zumindest für die Hauptfigur.
Denkbar wäre nämlich ein ähnliches Vorgehen wie bei Garfield, Scooby Doo und den Chipmunks. Bei den Spielfilmen mit diesen Trickfilmklassikern waren Realfilmaufnahmen mit CGI-Charakteren kombiniert worden.
Die Serie mit Yogi, der Bär, und seinem Kumpel Boo Boo aus den 60er Jahren war auch im deutschen Samstagsvormittagsprogramm für Kinder ein echter Renner (z.B. noch Anfang der Neunziger in der Hanna-Barbara-Party auf RTL Plus).

Cool, fand ich früher sehr witzig, aber ich denk nicht das es so gut werden wird.
Fand den Scooby Doo Teil 1 sehr gut, aber Teil 2 war schon wieder scheisse.
Und Chipmunsk? Kp, muss ich noch gucken, Garfield war aber wirklich sehr gut |

Eric Brevig has come on to direct Warner Bros.' feature take on the classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon Yogi Bear, which will be produced as a 3-D project. Brevig, a longtime visual effects supervisor whose credits include The Day After Tomorrow and Men in Black, directed Warners and Walden's Journey to the Center of the Earth.
Joshua Sternin and Jeffrey Ventimilia, who executive produced "That '70s Show," are writing the screenplay for Yogi Bear, which will offer a new take on the half-century-old title character and his sidekick Boo Boo, who get into a series of misadventures in Jellystone Park.
The movie is expected to combine live action and CG in the manner of Alvin and the Chipmunks.

Anna Faris, Dan Aykroyd and Justin Timberlake are in talks to star in Yogi Bear, Warner Bros.' big screen adaptation of the classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon. The film is being directed by Eric Brevig and produced by Donald De Line and Karen Rosenfelt as a live-action/CG hybrid. Faris will play a nature documentarian who follows the antics of a bear in fictional Jellystone Park. Aykroyd will voice Yogi, and Timberlake may voice Yogi's companion, Boo Boo. The studio hopes to get Yogi Bear under way in New Zealand in December. Brad Copeland penned the current script with Joshua Sternin and Jeff Ventimilia writing the original draft.

Tom Cavanagh to Play Ranger Smith in Yogi Bear
Variety reports that Tom Cavanagh ("Ed") has signed on to play Ranger Smith in Yogi Bear, Warner Bros.' live-action/CG animated film that has begun shooting in New Zealand. The Eric Brevig-directed film was written by Brad Copeland and also stars Anna Faris, Dan Aykroyd and Justin Timberlake.
Cavanagh is the male lead and romantic interest of a documentary filmmaker (Faris) who comes to Jellystone Park to shoot a film. Aykroyd's voicing the title character and Timberlake his sidekick Boo-Boo in the feature version based on the Hanna-Barbera cartoon series.
