I just stepped out of a screening of X-Men Origins: Wolverine on the Fox lot in Los Angeles and before it started, director Gavin Hood stopped by to introduce the film. He spent most of the time thanking us for coming to this screening and seeing Wolverine the way it should be seen, in theaters, and talked about how many difference there were between the final cut and the early leaked version. He then mentioned that Marvel has a tradition of hiding easter eggs in their films, and it's no exception for Wolverine. They've hidden multiple secret endings on different prints and theaters will be showing different versions.
Fox is a bit desperate to try and get people in theaters on May 1st for the opening and this definitely seems like a very unique decision to try and bring people in. While we've seen plenty of easter egg endings, like in Iron Man last year, we haven't seen multiple endings like this in a long time. Hood didn't say how many different endings there would be. As for the other differences between the leaked version and the final cut, Hood explained that there were 400 unfinished visual effects shots and that there was no score, unfinished sound mixing, and unfinished coloring. However, he didn't mention anything about differences in footage.
I will say, quickly, that I enjoyed Wolverine and wouldn't call it great, but liked it a lot more than I was expecting. I think my expectations had been brought down considerably because of all the negative buzz from the leak. However, seeing a finished and polished version was what made all the difference (I never saw the leaked version anyway). As for the secret ending we saw tonight, I'll only say that it featured Deadpool, but I won't say anything more, as I don't want to spoil the ending for anyone. We'll let you know when we hear any more about the secret endings in Wolverine, including how many there are and what they are.

Naja, das Ende der Story ist überall gleich, nur das Easteregg Ende ist anders. Also nicht ganz so wild.

Wie jetzt von mehreren Kinobesuchern bestätigt wurde, ist die deutsche FSK 16 Fassung von Wolverine mindestens in einer Szene zensiert.

Nachdem Wolverine den Hubschrauber zum Absturz brachte und mit dem schwer verletzten Zero im Wrack redet, sagt er zu Zero, dass das alte Pärchen von der Farm gute, unschuldige Menschen waren. Man hört Zero in der dt. Fassung Zero nur noch lachen und sieht dann wie Wolverine wegläuft, bevor das Bild schwarz wird.
Hier fehlt eine bereits aus den Trailern bekannte Szene in der Wolverine nach einem letzten Kommentar von Zero: "Unschuldige Leute haben die Angwohnheit in deiner Nähe zu sterben." mit seinen Klingen eine Benzinspur, die zum Hubschrauber führt, entzündet und dieser schließlich zusammen mit Zero explodiert, während Wolverine die Straße entlang läuft.

Ob es zu weiteren Schnitten kam, ist noch nicht sicher. Weiterhin gibt es auch bereits die erste Meldung, dass auch in der Schweiz diese Szene fehlte. Die englische Originalversion des Films, zumindest im Cineworld-Mainfranken, ist aber ungekürzt. Vermutlich auch in anderen Städten.

haben uns den Film gestern angeschaut, und waren sehr begeistert. Klasse Film gute Story, tolle Charaktere und ne Menge Aktion! Für meine Verältnisse der beste Film der X-Men Reihe!
Etwas hat mir aber nicht gefallen und das war ...
Das zweite was mich zum grübeln bringt ist, daß Stiker in diesem Film fähig ist eine so gute Waffe XI zu erschaffen und Jahre später in X-Men 2 "nur" Lady Deathstrike!
Wer den Abspann noch abwartet, kann dann noch eine zusätzliche Szene sehen! Mehr will ich dazu jetzt nicht sagen außer ...

Despite worries of a workprint that leaked a month ago and generally weak reviews, 20th Century Fox's prequel X-Men Origins: Wolverine, starring Hugh Jackman, brought in an estimated $87 million its opening weekend in over 4,000 theaters, averaging over $21 thousand per site. It is the third-largest opening for a May/summer kick-off blockbuster, surpassing the opening weekend gross of Bryan Singer's X2 six years back (at least based on estimates), but falling short of the openings for Spider-Man and last year's Iron Man.

Hugh Jackman and Seed Productions partner John Palermo are developing several projects for the X-Men Origins: Wolverine star, reports Variety.
Fox and Seed are in development on a sequel to "Wolverine." The Seed partners have begun planning the sequel, which they are squarely focusing on the samurai storyline originated in the comic series, says the trade.
Fox has just closed a deal to acquire Personal Security, a spec script by Matt Lieberman. Jackman will star as a tough New York police detective forced into bodyguard duty for a spoiled teen heiress who is receiving kidnapping threats.
While Jackman has not set his next star vehicle, he has gotten revved up over Drive, a Seed-produced adaptation of the James Sallis novel set up at Universal. Jackman will play a solitary man who drives race cars by day and getaway cars by night in Los Angeles.
Long-in-the-works Carousel is also now a priority at Fox 2000, after David Magee turned in a script that Jackman and Palermo said keeps the timeless spirit of the Rodgers & Hammerstein classic, but injects relevance for a contemporary audience. Jackman will play Billy Bigelow.

Der Film bot kurzweilige Unterhaltung und hat zudem einige offene Fragen beantwortet. Gerade bei Wolverine denke ich mir aber, da wäre noch mehr drin gewesen. Scheint ohnehin so zu sein, dass sich die X - Men seitdem Singer nicht mehr dabei ist (leider) in eine negative Richtung entwickeln  |

Laut Fox wird der Extended Cut nur auf Blu-ray erscheinen. Auf DVD wird nur die Kinofassung erhältlich sein.

Dem muss ich zustimmen, der Film hat zwar auch einige nette Momente, aber insgesamt war er nur durchschnittlich. Vieles wirkte viel zu konstruiert, einige Szenen waren unlogisch und viele Schauplätze wurden einfach aneinandergereiht, da fehlte der rote Faden. Außerdem waren es für meinen Geschmack ein paar Mutanten zuviel, ich dachte es sollte um Wolverine gehen, teilweise kam er mir aber wie X-Men 4 vor.

Der australische Superstar Hugh Jackman ist genau so ein Typ Schauspieler, bei dem das männliche gleichermaßen wie das weibliche Geschlecht ins Schwärmen gerät. Zurzeit sorgt der durchtrainierte 43-Jährige mit seinem aktuellen Science-Fiction-Knaller "Real Steel", in dem er einen boxenden Roboter spielt, für großartiges Action-Kino. Und der nächste Action-Hit steht bereits in den Startlöchern: Demnächst starten die Dreharbeiten zum neuen "Wolverine"-Hit, die Ausstrahlung ist allerdings erst für 2013 geplant. Eingefleischte "X-Men"-Fans müssen allerdings nicht ganz so lange auf die messerscharfen Klingen ihres Helden warten. RTL zeigt den ersten Teil des erfolgreichen Marvel-Spin-Offs "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" am 6. November 2011, um 20.15 Uhr, in einer Free TV Premiere.
Für die Regie konnte der Südafrikaner Gavin Hood verpflichtet werden, der bereits bei dem "Oscar"-prämierten Film "Tsotsi" Regie führte. Neben Jackman schlüpfen unter anderem Liev Schreiber ("Salt", "Repo Men"), Danny Huston ("Robin Hood", "Kampf der Titanen"), Ryan Reynolds ("Selbst ist die Braut", "Buried - Lebendig begraben") und Taylor Kitsch ("Friday Night Lights") in die fantastischen Marvel-Charaktere und machen "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" zu einem erstklassig besetzten Kino-Spektakel, das bis heute rund 375 Millionen Dollar eingespielt hat.
"X-Men Origins: Wolverine" gibt die Antworten auf alle Fragen, die nach der Trilogie noch offen waren: Was hat es mit der Vergangenheit Wolverines auf sich? Was ist damals geschehen, bevor aus Logan Wolverine wurde? In welcher Beziehung steht Logan zu Victor Creed (Liev Schreiber) und dem verhängnisvollen Weapon X Programm? Auf seinem Weg zur Wahrheit trifft Wolverine auf etliche Mutanten und so kommt allmählich Licht ins Dunkel.
