Jessica Alba Sees The Love Guru
According to Variety, Jessica Alba has joined Mike Myers in the Paramount Pictures comedy The Love Guru, along with Verne Troyer (aka Mini-Me from Myer's Austin Powers films) and Romany Malco, best known from his role in The 40-Year-Old Virgin. With plans for a June 20 release, the Myers co-produced and co-written comedy stars the comic in his first live-action role in many years playing a new character named Pitka, an American boy who was left as a child at the gates of an ashram in India, and after being raised by gurus, he moves back to the U.S. so seeks riches as a couples therapist.
Malco plays a hockey player whose wife is sleeping with a member of the rival team, while Alba, Myer's love interest, is the owner of the hockey team. Troyer plays the team coach. They're all brought together when Pitka is hired to reunite Malco with his wife so that he can lead the team to the championship.
The movie is being directed by Marco Schnabel for a planned June 20 release.

Da kann ich aus erfahrung sagen. Komische Rollen sind sehr anspruchsvoll zu spielen und haben, trotzdem erfolg im Kino, im gegensatz zu den meisten Aktionrollen, da steht ja eher das effektive im Vordergrund |

Derzeit geplanter Kinostart in Deutschland ist der 21. August 2008!
In den USA soll es bereits am 20. Juni 2008 soweit sein.

Uh da ist alles schon geplant, dann bleibt sie ja erstmal bis zum Hals in Arbeit, sie muss doch sicherlich auch noch bei The Eye ein bisschen nach synchronisieren, wow Hut ab weiterhin. |

And as any Canadian could tell you – all’s fair in love and hockey. “My character has a hard time getting a date and a hard time with guys because everyone hates her,” Alba - who it will be pointed out umpteen times before this movie comes out never faces a problem like this in real life – revealed. “She’s a ballbuster and a survivor [and winds up] falling for the love guru. He kind of balances her out.”
OK, really though – forget that. She’s gonna slug Mini-Me. “He’s offensive!” Alba mock swore.

Kooky as the characters might be, Kingsley assures that they're invested with realness: "Otherwise, the audience can't care about them."

But the pièce de résistance was a big Bollywood dance scene, which neither he nor co-star Jessica Alba could master. "He's a terrible dancer, and he had so much trouble getting the moves down that he changed the Bollywood scene until it was actually flamenco dance moves," laughs our source. (The scenery, however, is still Indian.) And Alba was so bad, "Every shot cuts the feet out of the screen so no one can compare her missteps to the backup dancers! She's actually very nice and quiet, just so bad at dancing."
