Eigentlich hätte für viele Old-School Actionfans Stallones 80-Millionen-Dollar Film The Expendables das Higlight des nächsten Jahren werden sollen. Mit Sylvester Stallone himself, Mickey Rourke, Jet Li, Jason Statham, Steve Austin und Dolph Lundgren in den Hauptrollen prominent besetzt, war das Projekt sehr vieversprechend.
Aber was jetzt angekündigt wurde, wird vielen Fans sauer aufstoßen. Auch wenn The Expendables nie so brutal sein sollte wie Stallones letzter Film John Rambo, erschien den Fans ein R-Rating eigentlich schon sicher. Zumindest konnte es sich keiner vorstellen, dass eine kindgerechte Version eine gute Idee ist.
Produzent Avi Lerner verriet jetzt aber, dass Regisseur Stallone 2 Versionen beim Studio Lionsgate abliefern wird. Eine Version für eine PG-13-Freigabe und eine für ein R-Rating. Diese Versionen werden dann einem Testpulikum gezeigt und zumindest im Idealfall soll dann die Version, die am besten ankommt, ins Kino kommen. Die Entscheidung trifft Lionsgate.

On Saturday, Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis shot a scene together for The Expendables, which Lionsgate has scheduled for an August 20, 2010 release. Ethelmae's Blog has posted a description of how it all went down. Here's a clip:
After Arnold, Bruce and Sly went through the scene a couple of times they all 3 headed off to wardrobe and make-up. at 8:10am with three cameras rolling the biggest action icons of our time went to work. I thought it was electric in Brazil when all of The Expendables stepped on set – but today was atomic!!!! the whole crew was mesmerized as we watched the three of them play off of each other in a pivotal scene that sets up the whole movie. And while I can’t/don’t want to give too much away I can tell you that Arnold’s character is Trench and Bruce is Church, the scene was shot in an empty church without extras and minimal set dec and it has tension and humor – what more can a girl ask for! Sly was in top form as a director today and was in total command. Bruce and Arnold were consummate professionals at all times – we got through the scene quickly without compromise. In 6 hours we did wide shots, close-ups, turned around…the whole nine yards…pretty impressive. Very Clint Eastwood.

Written and directed by Stallone, the film also stars Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Eric Roberts, Mickey Rourke, Jet Li, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Charisma Carpenter, Giselle Itie, Brittany Murphy, David Zayas and Amin Joseph. The action-adventure follows a team of mercenaries on a mission to overthrow a South American dictator.

Für die BBFC 15-Freigabe musste leicht zensiert werden
Allerorten wird Sylvester Stallones mit Genregrößen gespicktes Actionvehikel The Expendables von den Actionfans sehnsüchtig erwartet. Nachdem man sich von Studioseite bereits dazu entschied, den Film mit einem R-Rating in die Kinos zu bringen, darf man gespannt sein, wie die hiesige FSK dem Film gegenüberstehen wird.
In England hingegen wurde der Film bereits jetzt geprüft und erhielt eine BBFC 15-Freigabe. Das konnte jedoch nicht ohne einen Zensureingriff geschehen. Im BBFC-Eintrag zum Film wird die entfernte Szene beschrieben:

Komme gerade frisch aus dem Kino! Man kann die Story vergessen, man kann sich mit den flachen Charakteren nicht anfreunden, ... aber was solls? Das Ding rockt bei mir mit 9 von 10 die Scheiße weg!  |

Komme auch gerade aus dem Kino, muss WIESI voll und ganz zustimmen.
Die Action ist top - ich sag nur Terry Crews  -, der Rest ist aber mau.

Ziemlich entspannter Aktionfilm wenn man mal abschalten möchte ohne großartig über die Story nachdenken zu müssen *g*

Ich habe den Film geguckt ohne viel mit zu kriegen, hatte im Labor doch etwas zu wenig Luft und zuviel anderes Zeug, war ganz schön fertig LÖL |
