Laut SpoilerTV wird Jürgen Prochnow in der kommenden achten Staffel der beliebten Action-Serie 24 mitwirken. Er wird einen Bösewicht namens Bazhaev mimen, der Teil eines Osteuropäischen kriminellen Syndikates ist. Die achte Staffel wird in den USA ab dem 17. Januar 2010 auf dem Sender 'Fox' zu sehen sein.
Die Produktion zur 8. Staffel der Hitserie begann im Mai, Kiefer Sutherland ist erneut als Jack Bauer dabei. Ebenfalls zum Cast gehören Freddie Prince Jr. Anil Kapoor, Chris Diamantopoulos, John Boyd, Nazneen Contractor und Jennifer Westfeldt. Handlungsort ist diesmal New York City. Die siebte Staffel von 24 wurde Anfang dieses Jahres auf dem US-Sender 'Fox' ausgestrahlt. In Deutschland wird diese ab dem 01. September auf 'KabelEins' gezeigt.

If the coming season ends up being 24’s last, don’t count on Kiefer Sutherland’s Jack reconnecting with former love Audrey (Kim Raver), who lapsed into a catatonic state at the end of season 6. Exec producer Evan Katz tells me that a series-ending story has been hatched should 24 clock out for good next May—and it doesn’t involve an Audrey-Jack reunion.
“Some of the things we’re doing this season preclude [her returning],” he says. “So I think not. She was in bad shape the last time we saw her.”
Katz says a number of “contingencies are in place” that could either tie up the series or keep it going. (Reilly had suggested that the show’s hefty budget could make another season cost-prohibitive. Another hurdle: Sutherland’s contract expires in May.) “We have a scenario that would work well [if it's the end],” he says. “But we also have a bunch of scenarios where the show could go on in different ways…. We’re remaining flexible.”
What happens if a decision isn’t made by the time the final episode is shot in February? “That’s a great question,” says Katz. “Hopefully it’ll be clear before then.”

Rami Malek, Julian Morris and Hrach Titizian have signed on for multi-episode arcs on the upcoming season of Fox's 24. According to The Hollywood Reporter, in the action drama, Malek (Night at the Museum) will play Marcos, a would-be suicide bomber who is Arab American with sympathies toward radical Islam. Morris (ER) will play a CTU SWAT agent. Titizian will play Nabeel, the second-in-command of security for President Hassan (Anil Kapoor).

Ich glaube das können dir nicht mal die Produzenten sagen, wie du auch weiter oben
nachlesen kannst! Aber es gäbe wohl eine Option auf eine weitere Staffel, jedoch ist
dann ein neuer Vertrag mit Kiefer fällig, denn sein Vertrag endet mit der 8. Staffel.

Habs grade auch in der SFT gelesen, er würde weiter machen, ich hoffs ja aber billig wirds wohl nicht so bis zur 10ten wäre doch schön ein runder Abschluss |

'24' scoop: President Logan returns!
It’s official: 24’s upcoming eighth season is going to be craaaazy (the bat-you-know-what kind).
Gregory Itzin is returning to 24 as lunatic ex-prez Charlies Logan for a multi-episode arc. Logan will resurface towards the end of Day 8 when Cherry Jones’ President Taylor reluctantly enlists her disgraced predecessor to assist with an escalating diplomatic crisis.
24 exec producer Howard Gordon says the opportunity to watch Jones and Itzin go head-to-head “was simply too compelling to pass up.”
Logan was last seen in season 6 after being stabbed to near-death by his equally mental former wife Martha. At the time, 24’s then-executive producer Jon Cassar revealed that the initial script called for Logan to die. “I did everything I could not to kill him,” he said. “I wanted to give us the [option] to potentially bring him back.”
24 returns with its customary two-night, four-hour premiere on Jan. 17 and 18.

24: Will Jack Bauer Return for a Ninth Season?
Kiefer Sutherland and the cast discuss Season 8 and whether the show will continue beyond that.
While the 24 cast and executive producer Howard Gordon were at the TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour today to discuss Season 8 of the series, the very first question was one on many people's minds: Would there be a Season 9?
While no definitive answer was given either way, Kiefer Sutherland ("Jack Bauer") did say, "It's something that is absolutely open," remarking, "As long as people are still interested in watching it, I would be interested in making it," though he added, "Right now my focus is on finishing Season 8."
Gordon added that among the writing staff there was, "An emotional and creative curiosity. The writers ask, 'What if?' It's certainly a possibility."
Sutherland is now nine years older than when the show began, and asked if that's a factor in the show's many action scenes, he joked, "I would have to think Jack Bauer is a little slower now." However, he added, "There's a kind of adrenaline that kicks in. A lot of the physical stuff we get to do is exciting. And we do it in bursts - not sustained over a 12 hour day."
Season 8 begins with Jack Bauer the happiest we've ever seen him – retired and spending time with his family, including his daughter Kim (Elisha Cuthbert) and an adorable granddaughter. While Sutherland admitted that if you're watching 24, "It's a guarantee that [Jack's] gonna have a bad day," he noted, "What Howard and the writers did, which was such a great thing for me as an actor, was they put Jack in such a positive place. It gave Jack something to fight for."
Playing the new CTU boss Brian Hastings is Forrest Gump's Mykelti Williamson, who said, "My character is a little bit territorial, because he knows of Mr. Bauer. He's not certain if he should be in the position that he's in. He's always protecting himself from people recognizing he has chinks in his armor." Hastings' problem, Williamson added, is that Jack Bauer is very good at reading people.
24 takes place in New York this season. Los Angeles residents (myself included) often raised an eyebrow at the show in the past, for its depiction of an LA where the freeways never seem to be busy, and Jack can get across the city in 15 minutes. Would we see a similar depiction of New York, which relies heavily on public transportation? Laughed Sutherland, "In this 24 hour period, everything in New York is functioning perfectly. Everything is on schedule, unless we wrote that it didn't."
New cast member Freddie Prinze Jr. remarked, "Kind of pleased doesn't describe it," when asked how he felt about playing the role of CTU agent Cole Ortiz. Prinze Jr. was quick to admit, "I don't get offered this kind of job, period. If I'm in it, I'm struggling to fall in love for 96 minutes, and I always get the girl." He said he was very committed to his role on 24 and had spent a lot of time readying himself for it.
Asked about playing a much more office-oriented character than her action-ready Starbuck on Battlestar Galactica, Katee Sackhoff ("Dana Walsh"), remarked, "I embrace that with every fiber of my being. Every little turn, it just seems to get more interesting." Sackhoff noted that computer analyst Dana has a mysterious past, and that when she's asked if it's something bad, she's replied, "No, she raised show ponies in Kentucky. Yes, it's bad! It's 24! It's not going to be cotton candy and white and fluffy. She might turn a little bit more to what I'm used to."
Sutherland was asked about the cultural impact of 24 and the popularity of Jack Bauer. He said that one thing he found curious were times he's been on an airplane and been told by passengers that, because of his presence, "I feel safer flying on the plane." As Sutherland noted, 'Everyone around me gets killed!"
24 returns this Sunday, January 17th, on FOX.

So, gerade die ersten beiden Folgen geschaut. Leider muss ich sagen das der Start
doch recht mau war, dass ist man von 24 anders gewohnt. Aber vielleicht wird die
Season deshalb umso besser, sonst war es ja meist anders rum. Die neue CTU NY
finde ich nicht so berauschend, vorallem der Chef nervt.

Und ich dachte schon, dass es nur mir so vorkommt...
Schon etwas strange das Jack zum Eingreifen überzeugt werden muss und Chloe mit der Technik überfordert zu sein scheint.
Nun warten wir mal auf auf die den Rest der 4 Hour Premiere morgen. Kommt bestimmt noch in Fahrt.
Aber irgendwie vermisse ich die gute alte CTU Los Angeles. |
