According to Michael Riedel of the New York Post, Jessica Alba "is being courted to star in a Broadway revival of David Mamet's Speed-the-Plow in the spring." Jessica Alba is most recognized for her movie career, including The Fantastic Four super-hero film series; and rose to prominence in her FOX TV series "Dark Angel." Her other film credits include Honey, Sin City, Into the Blue, Idle Hands and Good Luck Chuck.
The article also states there is "no word yet on who will play the two male leads, but there's talk that 'The Sopranos' stars James Gandolfini and Michael Imperioli are on the producers' wish list, with Gandolfini playing the brutal studio boss and Imperioli playing the desperate producer."
David Mamet's original play Speed-the-Plow appeared on Broadway April 1988, directed by Gregory Mosher, and ran for a total of 279 performances at the Royale Theatre. Described as a satirical examination of the movie-business, it was nominated for Best Play. Actor Ron Silver received the Tony Award for Best Actor (1988) in the role of Charlie Fox. Silver starred opposite music recording legend Madonna (as Karen) and Tony Award-winner Joe Mantegna (as Bobby Gould).

Wieso nicht, denn es ist im Moment total angesagt unter den Stars, auf der Bühne zu stehen. Find ich gut von ihr, dass sie sowas macht.   |

Momentan? Theater fordert mehr von dir als TV, obwohl das ist falsch ausgedrückt. Theater ist einfach ganz anders. Du kannst mehr improviesieren, musst anders reden etc. Theater macht einfach Spaß!!!
Ich will hier unterstreichen Broadway heißt nicht gleich Musical, kann auch normales Theater sein! |

Vor allem kann im Theater nichts rausgeschnitten, retouchiert oder noch mal neu gedreht werden.
Es ist nun einmal Live-Schausspiel, bei dem nicht jeder Pfosten einen Charakter-Darsteller spielen kann.
Um so schöner finde ich es, dass sich JMA daran versuchen will. |

Und ich sag mal so, ich habe schon beides erleben dürfen (der Film war ein Schulprojekt). Theater macht einfach viel mehr Spaß, weil du die Reaktion direkt spürst und je nach dem wie das Publikum abgeht, kannst du darauf eingehen (was soll der Regisseur denn machen, unterbinden kann der ja nichts). Und es ist, so fand ich, schwerer, weil alles immer sitzen muss.
Und Jessica im Theater, das ist doch was schönes. Hat sie eigentlich mal Theater gespielt, ich meine schulmäßig etc?
Vielleicht gewinnt sie ja nen Tony  |

Wie man dem Interview bei Live with Regis & Kelly entnehmen kann wurde ihr die Rolle wirklich angeboten, aber sie weiß noch nicht ob sie das Angebot annehmen wird. Jedoch ist sie dem wohl nicht ganz abgeneigt, vorallem wenn es zu einem Schauspielerstreik im nächsten Jahr kommen sollte. Hier noch ein Artikel dazu:

Alba also spoke on Monday about her experience shooting The Love Guru, an upcoming hockey movie with Mike Myers and Justin Timberlake. Asked if Timberlake is good on the ice, she replied, "I heard he's really good. I mean, I don't go and, like, watch him. You know, that would be weird. 'Hey, I just came by to watch you guys play.' Creepy!"

Wenn sie es macht, kann sie zeigen das sie mehr kann als nur eine Schauspielerin. Es wird ihr ganzes Potenzial frei legen. Hoffe nur das es auch ne DVD dazu gibt
