Im nächsten Jahr kommt laut imdb.com das dritte Sequel zu Jurassic Park in die Kinos. Vorläufiger Titel ist Jurassic Park IV: The Extinction.
Es steht bisher weder ein Regisseur noch ein Cast fest. Nur Michael Crichton arbeitet zusammen mit William Monahan am Drehbuch.
Da noch kein Detail der Handlung bekannt ist, kursieren im Internet diverse Gerüchte über den Inhalt. Diese reicht von Raptoren Invasion in der Schweiz, über einen Dinopark in L.A. wo die Ur-Echsen ausbrechen bis hin zu einer menschheitsbedrohenden Dino-Seuche.
Auch Stan Winston, der die Dinos bereits zum vierten Mal zum Leben erweckt, ist wieder mit an Bord.

To those who still don't believe that the JP4 script that AICN's ( http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=18166 ) Moriarty reviewed back in August was legit, writer John Sayles wants to let you know it was real -- and that it also was stolen. "It amazes me that people are that obsessed with reading Steven Spielberg’s mail," he tells the New York Observer this week. The paper reports a hacker "intercepted" the script, which they describe as an early version, and offered their opinion of it before sending it on to AICN. The article also mentions that JP4 is "on hold", a sentiment we've seen echoed before.
Und dann erschien noch diese Insider Meldung:
[...] "Universal is planning on getting their act together for JP4 very soon," he says. "This announcement will coincide with the announcement of a new BIG Jurassic Park attraction at Universal Orlando's Islands of Adventure. These plans of course may change (as they usually do!) but it sounds like things are coming together!" [...]

hmm also ich habe irgendwo gelesen dass irgendeine militante gruppe oder sogar das Militär selbst versucht die dinosaurier als waffe einzusetzen und zwar auf dem festland. also wie gesagt ich hab das nur irgendwo gelesen  hört sich auch ziemlich bescheuert an. ich bin aber sowieso der meinung das drei teile reichen, obwohl der erste wäre auch genug...manche filme sind eben so großartig dass sie nicht fortgesetzt werden sollten (siehe Weiße Hai) |

Jurassic Park 4 Coming in 2008?

Director-producer Frank Marshall tells the London Free Press that they have a script for Jurassic Park 4.
He says Jurassic Park IV "has a good script now, so we should have that one up and running next year for release in 2008."
He previously mentioned that they would start on the fourth installment in the dino franchise after the fourth "Indiana Jones" is completed. |

Producers Frank Marshall and Kathleen Kennedy just revealed at today's junket for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button that plans have fallen through for a fourth entry in the "Jurassic Park" franchise.
When asked if there was any development on the long-anticipated sequel, Kennedy responded, "No... I don't know. You know, when Crichton passed away, I sorta felt maybe that's it. Maybe that's a sign that we don't mess with it."
Since Joe Johnston's Jurassic Park III in 2001, Universal has been developing a fourth outing in the successful franchise. The studio commissioned William Monahan and John Sayles to pen a script in '04.

Ich glaube nicht das es keinen 4. Teil geben wird. Vielleicht nicht in den nächsten 1-2 Jahren, aber der wird kommen.

Würde mich auch über einen 4. Teil freuen, wobei ich das "Statement" von Kennedy als faule Ausrede empfinde ... einen 3. Teil konnten sie schließlich auch ohne Crichtons Beteiligung machen  |

Ain't It Cool News got a chance to talk to The Wolfman director Joe Johnston and the interview briefly turned to the possibility of a Jurassic Park 4. Johnston directed the third film in the franchise, which was released in 2001.
"There is a great story for the fourth one that I would be interested in getting involved with and it's nothing like the first three," Johnston told the site, "It sort of takes the franchise off in a completely different direction, which is the only way I would want to get involved."
He added that it likely won't be another storyline about a group of people struggling to survive a dinosaur attack. "We've done that and it's been done three times..."
The site commented that they should stay away from an island setting this time. "Why would anybody go back to that island?" Johnston said. "It was hard enough to figure out the second and third reason for them to go, but it would take it off in a whole other trilogy basically, but when it gets to that level it's sort of about studios and Steven [Spielberg's] thing and who knows. I think we are at that point where we are due for another one if we are going to do it."
Universal Pictures has not targeted a release date for a fourth film.

Last month, "Jurassic Park" fans seeking a fourth film saw a glimmer of hope when it was revealed that Steven Spielberg was discussing story options with screenwriter Mark Protosevich.
The director of the third film, Joe Johnston (Captain America, The Wolfman), did a bit of gabbing himself about the sequel. He tells Screen Rant: "We are in discussions about 'Jurassic Park 4.' The most important thing I can tell you is that it starts a new trilogy that will go off in a different direction — a completely different direction that is very exciting, and different from anything we've seen. It starts with the history of the first trilogy, but it spins it off in a completely different direction. That's all I can tell you."
None of this is new, mind you. Joe said the same thing back in 2010 right here AND in 2009 right here. So, how close is Johnston to Jurassic Park 4? You have to wonder, especially with Spielberg and Protosevich off having their own discussions.

And Peter will start working on the film this year. When he’s done shooting 'The Hobbit,' he’ll begin his performance capture work with the actors later in 2012, which I’m very excited about. And of course, I’m hoping I’ll be able to direct the third one. I’d love to do the third one because I had so much fun on the first one.”
Spielberg's next directorial project, Lincoln, will hit theaters later this year.

Just days after word arrived that Steven Spielberg's tentative next film, Robopocalypse, has been delayed indefinitely, comes word that should more than balance out the disappointment felt by fans: Jurassic Park IV is officially on the way with a release date of June 13, 2014!
Details on the project are currently few, but Jurassic Park IV will be produced by Spielberg with a director yet-to-be-named. It is also being planned for a 3D release.
"It's really hard to keep these things going when there's an expectation and a desire by the public and the audience to keep certain franchises going," fellow producer Kathleen Kennedy told ComingSoon.net last fall. "As filmmakers, we often sit there going, 'Okay. We have to answer the question, 'Why do another one?'' If you can't answer that question, you shouldn't be doing it. It's tough. We're trying to come up with a story that makes sense and isn't going to disappoint people and is, hopefully, going to get people excited and reinvigorate the franchise."
Currently unconfirmed, it is believed that the most recent draft of the sequel was scripted by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver.
The original 1993 Jurassic Park will see a 3D re-release on April 5 of this year, also hitting IMAX 3D theaters.

Universal Pictures has today confirmed the rumors that Jurassic Park 4 has been pushed back. The Colin Trevorrow-directed film was originally scheduled for a June 13, 2014 release date. Here is the statement from the studio:
