Third Jackass Starts Filming in January
According to SlashFilm, "Jackass" star Steve-O has revealed on the "Howard Stern Show" that a third "Jackass" movie is in the works. "I was told to rest up for 'Jackass 3' which will start shooting in January," he said. The first two films made a collective $164 million at the worldwide box office.

Ich finds garnicht unerwartet, in fact wurde schon im Abspann zu Jackass #2 auf einen dritten Teil angespielt 
Mal kucken. Eigentlich müssten die im dritten Teil alle sterben um überhaupt noch was zu steigern. *böse lach*

Genau weiß ichs auch nicht mehr, aber Bam Margera hat gefleht: "Bitte Gott, lass es keinen Jackass '3 geben." Und Jeff Tremaine hat irgendwas wie "Oh auf jeden Fall" gesagt, bin mir aber nicht mehr so sicher  |

Jackass Sequel Planned
Variety reports that a third "Jackass" movie is being brought to the screen in 3-D by Paramount.
Paramount and MTV Films are even further along with Jackass 3, with filming scheduled to begin January 25. The studio has carved out a spot on its 2010 slate for the latest "Jackass," which will star Johnny Knoxville. The first two films, which together cost $16.5 million, earned a combined $164.1 million worldwide.
The movie will shoot in Knob Lick, Kentucky, Mianus, Connecticut, Fukang, China, Buttzville, New Jersey and Gayville, South Dakota.

The third installment of "Jackass" from Paramount Pictures and MTV Films will hit theaters on October 15, 2010, this time in eye-popping 3D. Johnny Knoxville and the boys will begin shooting in late January with Dickhouse Production's Jeff Tremaine at the helm and producing alongside Spike Jonze and Knoxville.
The addition of 3D to the new film will raise the mayhem factor to new heights, promises star/producer Johnny Knoxville. "We're going to take the same 3D technology James Cameron used in 'Avatar' and stick it up Steve O's butt. We're taking stupid to a whole new dimension."
2002's Jackass: The Movie earned more than more than $64 million and was heralded as "a disgusting, repulsive, grotesque spectacle, but also hilarious and provocative. God help me, thumbs up" by esteemed critic Richard Roeper. Released in 2006, Jackass: Number Two earned over $72 million and was heralded by The New York Times as being "debased, infantile and reckless in the extreme, this compendium of body bravado and malfunction makes for some of the most fearless, liberated and cathartic comedy in modern movies."

How 'Jackass' Threequel Got Its 3D Nod
All over town, directors and studios are testing footage as they decide whether or not to go 3D. That included Jackass 3. From what I'm told, the filmmakers violated every rule that James Cameron set with Avatar, in which he used 3D to immerse an audience into his film, rather than sending projectiles out at the audience. Insiders say some of the footage displayed how Steve-O, Johnny Knoxville and cohorts doing their usual pratfalls, but the stunt that really won the day was called “The Heli-cockter." One of the Jackass crew—I believe it was “Party Boy” Chris Pontius—tethered a remote control-operated helicopter to his penis, and sat there grinning as the copter swung in circles, flying out at the spectacle-wearing Paramount executives who green lit the film.

Some might wonder why Johnny Knoxville and his group of long-time pals would put themselves through all sorts of dangerous and crazy stunts and pranks for the sake of Jackass 3D (Paramount), but with the estimated $50 million the third movie brought in this weekend, it's clear that whatever sort of physical or mental damage those stunts may cause, the "Jackass" crew is laughing all the way to the bank once again. Being the first installment shot fully using 3D cameras, Knoxville's latest laughfest opened on Friday in 3,081 theaters with an astounding $21.8 million, seeing a daily record for the month of October, before setting a new October opening weekend record, besting the likes of Scary Movie 3 ($48.1 million) and DreamWorks Animation's Shark Tale ($47.6 million), which have held the month's benchmarks for six and seven years respectively. Jackass 3D also has the dubious honor of being the highest opening non-fiction movie--we hesitate at calling it a "documentary"--as it opened 72% (!) higher than the previous installment, Jackass: Number Two), which opened with $29 million in September 2006, up 28% from the original movie's opening in 2002.

Paramount Digital Entertainment in association with MTV, both part of Viacom Inc., announced today that it plans to release "Jackass 3.5" digitally in March of 2011.
Jackass 3D hit theaters on October 15, 2010 and has already grossed over $155 million at the worldwide box office. The film stars Johnny Knoxville and the boys and was produced by Dickhouse Production's Jeff Tremaine and Spike Jonze, along with Knoxville. "Jackass 3.5," which was tailor-made for launch in digital media, will feature all new content, including never-before-seen stunts, pranks and other side-splitting antics by the Jackass crew. New stunts and antics from "Jackass 3.5" will be released online weekly and then packaged together as a feature length film distributed digitally followed by other platforms including home video.
"I don't want to say that the Jackass guys invented the Internet, but they were doing viral videos before most people had even heard the term. That distinguished heritage makes Jackass the perfect franchise for digital," said Thomas Lesinski, President of Paramount Digital Entertainment. "When the Jackass guys went to make 'Jackass 3D,' we proposed that we shoot a follow up to the successful 'Jackass 2.5' digital feature alongside it, and everyone was up for it. In 'Jackass 3.5,' you are going to see an entire movie's worth of new stunts, new pranks and new gags, on whatever screen you choose."
"For 'Jackass 3D' we shot enough footage for two movies so a lot of great stuff didn't make it in the film. Luckily you will get to see those bits in 3.5. We also shot some additional footage in Europe specifically for 3.5. I have staples in my head right now to prove it. Woo hoo," said Jackass co-founder and star Johnny Knoxville.
"It's been ten years since 'Jackass' first launched on MTV and there is still more poo, stunts and hilarity to go around on every screen imaginable," said Van Toffler, President, MTVN Music/Logo/Films Group. "Whenever the Jackass crew gets together, you know there will be a plethora of valuable fragments of entertainment to satiate their fans, and 'Jackass 3.5' will not disappoint as the latest installment in this fine franchise."
In 2007, Paramount Digital Entertainment & MTV released 'Jackass 2.5,' the first digital movie released by a studio that quickly became the most successful non-theatrical release in the studio’s history. In the first few weeks of launch, the digital property garnered over 20 million views and was the #1 title on iTunes the week it launched.
