If 2009's 'Fast and Furious' was chapter one, what writer Chris Morgan just delivered is Chapter 2 and chapter 3.
I have never been submitted a two story saga from a studio before... it is very exciting, and shows a commitment level that is hard not to respond to.
Excited about the sexy locations the filming of this saga would take us... this novel like story, that has twists and unexpected turns that is authentic, truthful and challenging to the characters.
Diesel added on his page that he will also soon be providing updates on Riddick, another XXX movie and his passion project about General Hannibal Barca.

5th Fast and Furious Installment Confirmed
Universal Pictures is putting a fifth installment of its "Fast and Furious" franchise, with the working title of Fast Five, on the fast track. Variety says the studio has closed deals with Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, director Justin Lin and producer Neal Moritz to return.
Last year's fourth installment was the highest-grossing "Fast and Furious" film and Universal's top grosser of 2009, making $343 million worldwide. Chris Morgan is writing Fast Five, in which Dom (Diesel) and Brian (Walker) are fugitives being pursued by relentless lawmen. Filming is scheduled to begin later this year for a 2011 release.

Deadline New York is reporting that Dwayne Johnson is eyeing a starring role in Fast Five, the fifth installment of the "Fast and Furious" franchise coming to theaters on June 10, 2011.
In the movie, Dom (Vin Diesel) and Brian (Paul Walker) are fugitives being pursued by relentless lawmen. Our guess is Johnson's character would lead those lawmen if the deal goes through.
Justin Lin is returning to direct. Chris Morgan wrote the script.

Scoopers 'tidus1117' and 'Tommy' alerted us that Puerto Rico newspaper El Nuevo Dia reported yesterday that Fast Five, the fifth installment of the "Fast and Furious" franchise, will shoot on the island from July to August.
Streets, neighborhoods and local offices will serve to represent Brazil, a country where most of the plot takes place, said the newspaper.
In the film, Dom (Vin Diesel) and Brian (Paul Walker) are fugitives being pursued by relentless lawmen. Diesel and Walker are being joined by Dwayne Johnson, TJ Hassan, Tego Calderon and Don Omar.
Directed by Justin Lin from a script by Chris Morgan, the Universal Pictures release hits theaters on June 10, 2011.

Fast Five Drives into the Record Books
After four months where no one movie grossed more than $40 million in a single weekend, the fifth installment of the "Fast and Furious" franchise, Fast Five (Universal), reuniting Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson and Chris Bridges with director Justin Lin, nearly doubled that amount in its opening weekend. After grossing an estimated $34.5 million on Friday, it ended up with roughly $83.6 million for its opening weekend, doing nearly 18% better its opening weekend than the last installment, 2009's Fast and Furious.
Besides sporting the largest opening weekend for 2011 and setting a new April opening record, Fast Five also claims the honor of being Universal Pictures' biggest opening ever. It also did well in its 243 domestic IMAX theaters, averaging $3400 per site to make up $8.3 million of that impressive opening weekend. Outside of North America, Fast Five brought in additional $45.3 million in 14 markets bringing its worldwide total gross to $165 million in less than two weeks. It will open in 45 more territories next weekend and then in China and Israel on May 12, but it's already setting itself up to be one of the year's biggest hits.

Also ich fand den ganz gut. OK man sollte nicht auf Logik achten und die physikalischen Gesetze aber sonst, klasse Action Film.
Muss gestehen, hab Teil 3&4 nicht geschaut, aber das tut dem 5ten Teil nix. Bezieht sich eh hauptsächlich auf die ersten beiden, soweit ich es nachvollziehen konnt. |
